Merry

Merry has one son named Joey. She does a lot of the grooming in the troop. If you see her in a video she is most likely grooming another troop member. Merry is a highly protective mother and when Joey was born she didn’t let anyone handle him for quite a while. Even now, if Joey gets into an argument with another troop member Merry is not far behind to defend her son. Even though she lacks her right hand she gets around really well and is capable of doing everything all the other monkeys can do.

Defining Characteristics:

Merry is missing her right hand.
She has a dark brown patch of fur on top of her head.
She has white at her temples and her face is framed by gray fur with a hint of brown on her cheeks.
She has a tan skin tone.
She has patches of white above her eyes that start at the inner corners of her eyes and patches of white that sits right below her eyes.
She has dark purple nipples that are pink at the tips. Her right nipple is a pale pink and her left is a brighter pink.

Although it has not been confirmed, Sasha may be Merry’s older offspring, since she has often been seen accompanying her in some of the older videos, including times when she had been “alloparenting” Joey, when he was a baby and has been in some of the recent videos with Merry as well.

Interesting, I wonder if they are related. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were. I didn’t know that she would aunt Joey when he was a baby. Maybe I should put a picture of them side by side and see if they have similar features? Would that be something interesting to see on here?
