Pigtail Comparison (Queen’s Troop)

From left to right: Bonita, Cara and Teresa. 

These are the three Pigtail Monkeys in Queen’s Troop. When they are lined up next to each other it’s easier to see that they have differences.

  • Bonita’s fur a light blonde color and is not as thick or defined as Cara’s and Teresa’s. She is also slimmer than Cara and Teresa.
  • Cara’s fur is a brown ashy color and she lacks white facial markings. She has very defined fur and the top of her head is a dark brown.
  • Teresa’s coat has patches of warm brown and her face has more white facial markings than the other two. When looking at her straight on you notice she has a white “x” on her face.

  1. Do you know if they call Cara by another name on some of those sites?? Sometimes the people doing the video taping I think calls them by the wrong names. I do think the pigtails are very pretty monkeys! Teresa is my favorite! She is always so good to the young ones.

    • Shanda (Its14fan) – Hm, I’m not sure if Cara was ever called any other name other than Cara. It’s a good question though! I am hoping that if anyone finds alternative names they can let me know so I can add them on the troop lists.

      I apologize if I’m just reiterating information you already know, but there are multiple Pig Tails that live in the area. Each troop has their own, so a videographer might have been following a different troop at the time. I know that Amari’s, JR’s and Queen’s troops all have a few Pig Tails mixed in. Most of the Pig Tails are very sweet to the LT babies. I’ve always been amazed at how gentle they can be when they have a baby in their arms. 🙂

    • Teresa goes by ashley and her little adopted baby is amanda or pretty. Shes in amara group but also was recently leading sovana group until her and bonita fight and bonita take over she ran away back to amara group with adopted baby. She also adopted bruno but during fight the got separated and he later fell from high tree and had a seizure.

      • Teresa and Ashley are not the same. Teresa is in the Queen/Amber group and smaller in size. Ashley has a big bump like Cara.

      • There are several fights between Ashley and Bonita…it seems that Ashley is currently leading the Savana group…

        I saw at least 3 serious fights between Ashley and Bonita so who is currently the leader of the Savana group?

    • I wonder why Rose wasn’t so sweet to her own hybrid baby that more resembled a long tail than a pigtail.

    • They are from a totally different area Phnom Bros the Amber and Amari troupes are from Angkor Watt
      I’m really not too sure what the troupes name is but normally it’s named after their alpha females…. So I’d be guessing Amara troupe

  3. What troupe was Melody in? Also who was Melody’s mother. One more question What year Melody born. Thank you I advance for any help or information you can share with me.
