Queen has two daughters. Her oldest daughter is Duchess and her youngest is Princess. She is the Alpha of her troop. Queen is an interesting monkey because she tends to favor Duchess. There was a video of another monkey playing with Duchess. When Queen saw this happening she bit and ran off the other monkey for “attacking” Duchess. When Princess is picked on, Queen will sometimes react, but most of the time she just lets it happen. She rarely scolds Duchess for picking on Princess – even when Princess was very young.

Even though Queen has her faults, she tends to be the first into a fight when her troop is under attack. She will also drive off dogs that are getting too close. You will rarely see Queen grooming other monkeys. She has a habit of sitting with her legs either straight out in front of her or crossed at her ankles.

An interesting tidbit is that when Danita/Solita was dropped off Queen was never one of the monkeys that showed aggression toward her. Oddly enough, I don’t think we ever saw Queen interact with her.

Defining Characteristics:

• She has small red splotches on her face near her eyes and the bridge of her nose. (More comparable to red freckles.)
• Her right index finger doesn’t bend and is always sticking straight up.
• She has symmetrical skinny pink nipples.
• She likes to sit with her legs straight out of crossed at the ankles.
